High Tide Beats featuring DJ Gerri Attricks is an eclectic mix of dance, electronica and ambient music taken from all over the world. From the old classics like Abba and Cher to newer artists; From popular remixes to obscure songs that slipped through the cracks the goal of the show is to explore the huge variety of music to listen to while getting ready to hit the clubs, do an aerobic workout to or just dance around while cleaning the house. Themed shows as well as regular feature such as “Hit or Miss” where the audience gets to vote on brand new tunes, High Tide Beats aims to keep your feet tapping each week.Enter show description
Meet the DJ
DJ Gerri Attricks was born and lives in beautiful Upstate New York near Syracuse with a family that includes three pugs. From an early age, DJ Gerri Attricks was drawn to music, playing Trombone and French Horn while in grade and high school and adding Oboe while in college. In 1992 DJ Gerri Attricks received a bachelors in Music Theory and during high and college worked in number record shops and spent too much money (and used the stores’ employee discounts much too frequently) to a mass an extremely large music collection. DJ Gerri Attrick’s music collection has continued to grow digitally and includes a wide range of genres including 80’s, Pop, R&B, Soul, Alternative, Rock, Heavy Rock, Dance, Reggae, Electronic, Country, Jazz and Classical. DJ Gerri Attricks was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and has been legally blind with low vision for the past twenty year. Recently completing a Masters in Clinical Psychology Work from Boston University, DJ Gerri Attricks has joined Ocean Waves Radio to raise awareness for the blind and visually impaired community and hopefully expose listeners to lots of great new music with the High Tide Beats show!
